Squidoo Lens Strategy Part 1

notebook at squidoomagic

To set up a Squidoo lens the fastest and easiest way, you need to be practical, so the first thing to do is to gather the information you need for the lens.

Sidebar: This is the way I do it, you may find another way that suits you better, this is meant to get you started.

To make a business lens:

Open your keyword document

Open your link document (with RSS feeds, video, free reports urls etc)

Open your text document for the content

Have pictures ready: for your bio, for your lens and for lens’ text.

Create a Squidoo lens:
“My lens is about” (can be changed later)
Choose “I just want to do my own thing”
“Pick your URL…” this is important, use your main keyword(s)
“Pick a category” can also be changed later
“The best keywords for my lens” by default your lens’ url is added. Add those again, later you will be able to add up to 40 keywords.
You are now done :

Add modules in this order (introduction module is default module):

Poll module

Text module

Youtube module

Guestbook module

Text module

RSS feed module

Write your bio, add a picture, it can be of yourself or product related it is up to you. Your visitors tend to be more positive about you, when they know a bit about you. You will also get more to post to your guestbook, so don’t skip this.

Introduction module: add a picture here too, it will be your lens’ picture. When other lensmasters add your lens to their lensroll your lens’ picture will be added to their sidebar.
Write a story about how your product helped either you or friends. We want stories from the real world. As an example see my lens about how I conquered dentist phobia http://squidoo.com/efttapping (selling an affiliate product from the lens).

Offer a free report, video, audio or trial period.

Remember to add anchor text. (links to your products hidden in the text).

This is such clear cut, simple and effective info. I am always referring back to this post when i want to make another lens, just like now.
Btw, do you do reviews of our lenses?

Thanks!

You are welcome Charlotte and thank you for your nice words.

Reviews of lenses? haven’t thought about it.

Great idea, I will add the service here.

Send in your lens and I’ll give you a review and if you don’t mind I’ll post it here too.
