Get Rid of the Big Ads
You may have noticed (hard not to 
) the big ads on the right handside Squidoo has added in connection with the new templates.
It is possible to get rid of them, Squidoo calls it “Opt out of display ads”
What Squidoo says about it:
If you don’t like the Glam ads, or you don’t think they’re appropriate for your viewers, we want to give you the control to opt out. Since the ad revenue goes into a pool, it’s not fair to your fellow lensmasters (or to us, the monkeys running the site) to opt out and get a free ride on the revenue. So, our compromise is this: if you’re not doing it for the cash payout (if your revenue is set to charity) then sure, feel free to opt out of the glam ads on a lens by lens basis. Just look in your lens workshop for a checkbox called “Opt out of display ads.” If your payment settings for that lens are going 100% to charity, you can click this box and we’ll remove the Glam ads from your page.
Of course, we’d rather work with you to raise as much for charity (and for you) as possible. So we hope you’ll give the Glam ads a chance as our filtering tools and lens layouts get better. And thanks.
My lenses that are my “product lenses” are set up as opt-out of display ads, the others with the display of ads.
To opt-out of display ads you login to your lens ==> Edit
Scroll down right handside: “Payment Options”, click the orange Edit button
and your lens will look like this:
Next is to untick “Combination”
Then choose either to donate your ad income to Squidoo Charity Fund or choose your favorite charity organization.
Add 100 to either of them
Then click the orange Save button,
Your lens’ sidebar will now look like this:
Last thing to do is to tick Opt out of display ads and clic Publish (at top of the lens).
There you are; no big ads on your lens only Google text ads on top and at the very bottom.
